Calling in some help!
Calling in some help!
I’m at a point where I’m not burnt out on Sci-fi but at the same time I want to watch movies that interest me and are well made. As I’ve said before I feel like I’ve dragged the bottom of the lake on Sci-fi on Netflix. I’m finding another endless stream on Prime either included or for rent. However with the over abundance I wonder which I should spend my time with and which I should avoid. I mean for every Anon out there, there is probably six like The App and that was terrible.
So, I decided to call in some help from the bullpen. I went to my friend the World Wide Web and my Google search and typed in Top 100 Sci-fi movies of all time. This gave me two lists that I’ve come to rely on as a guide to help me find a higher quality viewing experience. The cool thing is both list pretty much include the same movies. The order are a little different but this is really more of a guide to miss movies like Battle Beyond the Stars and Space Raiders. (Which should never be viewed in the same weekend bc it’s really way to easy to realize all the battle scenes in space are used in each movie. Plus I’ll never buy John Boy from the Waltons as a space hero in Battle Beyond the Stars, and in Space Raiders I don’t need to see a 50 plus year old man trying to be As cool as Han Solo was, it didn’t work!)
There are a lot of classic Sci-fi movies I haven’t got into but I will. I’m not going to give you the names of the lists bc you can google it. I’ll just say one includes rankings from Rotten Tomatoes and the other it by Popular Mechanics. My goal is to begin each weekend with a classic and end each weekend with a classic that I have not seen.
