Welcome to the Family Nebula!

Welcome to the Family Nebula!

I won’t do a lot of blogs about cars.  I am just not a car guy.  I know you put them in R to go backwards and D to go forward.  Other than that, I don’t know a whole lot about them other than I think this looks cool and that doesn’t.  So, writing about cars would be out of my element.  However, today I am going to write a little bit about the newest member of my family and that is Nebula.

Nebula is a 2024 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy in Moonlight Cloud.  Which is to say she is a very dark blue that looks almost black.  Her paint job makes her look like she has thousands of little stars in her.  She is pretty much a blue badass, much like a certain Guardian of the Galaxy who also goes by the name Nebula.  So, when I went with a blue car, I knew I had to name her after Nebula.  Is my car as hot as the person plays Nebula in Karen Gillan, no, no probably not but she does look pretty sweet.

I had trouble coming up with a name for a blue car.  If I would have gotten a white car, I would have called it Frosty.  If I would have gotten a gray car, it would have been Gandalf.  If I would have gotten a black car, I would have called it Angmar.  After the lord of the 12, the Witch-King himself.  It took a while for the blue name to come to me.  I was latterly sitting in a grocery store parking lot weight on my mom, when it popped into my head.

I drove several cars before deciding to go with Nebula.  By the way must give a huge shout out to my brother Bob for helping me with the car.  He has been out of the industry for a while but helped point me in some good directions to look and test drive different cars.

I was pretty sure I wanted a Ford Explorer.  I felt like it gave me great room.  Which after years of driving Snow Flake my 2012 Chevy Volt, I just didn’t have.  I went and test drove a couple of Explorers last Wednesday and one of them was a game changer.  The 2021 Ford Explorer Platinum with massaging front seats.  OMG!  Massaging Seats are a GAME CHANGER.  The combination of the butt warmers and the massaging seat, WOW!  My ass doesn’t just deserve to be rubbed but it deserves to be rubbed as well.

So, while hunting with my brother on Thursday morning we literally went and asked people if their cars had massagers, if they didn’t, they were out. It was just that simple.  When we got to Hyundai they told us that the Palisade Calligraphy had the massaging driver seat that I was looking for.  Plus, it had the heated seat and the AC seat as well.  Look, I must take care of my butt, if I don’t know one else will.

As I drove the Palisade, I sort of starting to fall in love with it.  It has good space for me.  It has all the newest features.  It does rub my ass as I drive and warms it or cools as needed. I just keep thinking after a long bike ride riding home in the car that massager is going to feel nice.

The more that I thought about it, the more I was convinced that that Palisade was the right car for me.  I originally liked a gray with light interior.  However, I noticed what Kona and her shedding was doing to a lighter car and I went on the dealer’s website and realized they had a blue one with black interior and I knew I had to have it.  Tuesday morning, I pulled the trigger and brought Nebula home.  I should probably actually start driving her, she currently has a whopping 29 miles on her.

I am going to introduce Kona and Nebula formerly a little later today.  I have some seat covers that are coming before I load up Kona for a drive.  I must take care of Nebula.  Make sure that she is protected from the shedding and the claws on the Kona.  She did end up tearing up the leather in the back of Snow Flake and we don’t want that to happen to Nebula. So, I am waiting.  I am sure if Kona can get her nose at the window, she will love Nebula as much as I do.

Moving further east tomorrow or on Friday.  Going out to Clay City.  Then my house should be ready just before Thanksgiving, but I will move in the week after.  So, things are moving along!  Now that we have a car, it is time to start looking for furniture: 70+ inch TV, Couch, office stuff, bedroom sets, etc… Lots of new going on here!
