Make time today to do something kind for yourself

 



I had to ask myself last night when I was reading this what is something kind for myself?  I really didn't know.  Was it going out and getting a massage?  Was it buying myself something new.  Was it exercise?  So, I do what I always do when I am in a conundrum.  I googled it.  On Fatherly a website, I really don't know much about I came across this really cool list of  55 Small, Nice Things to do for Yourself.   What I learned is it can be just about anything.


Some suggestions were:


Go for a walk in nature.


Create a playlist of old music you love.  


Call an old Friend.


Think about how you talk to yourself.  


Plant something


Write an angry letter to a person and then toss it


Yoga


Make a Pact to read more good news.


Fuck up and go easy on yourself.


The list goes on and it was really cool.  It was a great read.


So today, on my last day of peace before going back to war tomorrow at work.  I decided to write an angry letter to someone whom I have been frustrated with.  I expressed all the anger and emotion I was feeling.  I really let it out.  Then, I deleted.  I actually feel better about the whole thing.  Sometimes you just need to express the emotions. 


However, on my day of kindness for myself I didn't stop there.  I went a little bit further.  I went ahead and bought myself something nice.  I am getting myself a Garmin Smart Trainer.  I think I deserve it and it would be perfect for today when the rain keeps coming then going.  I don't irde in the rain. 


I also decided because of the weather raining, then stopping, raining then stopping, I was going to take a rest day for myself.  I don't need to work out hard everyday.  So today, I just sat down and got my work area ready for for tomorrow.  I cleaned my desk it looks great.  Plus I got to shred a tone of papers.  I love to shred stuff, must be the CPA in me.  That is accounting humor people. 


But, I didn't stop their, in the spirit reading 10 pages a day, I took the amazon gift card that my nieces and nephews got me and I bought three new books on Happiness, right from the suggestions on the Action for Happiness website.

The books will get here this week.  I did read 10 pages last night and journaled before going to bed.  Did I sleep better?  Maybe, I got over 8 hours and that was good and according to my watch 73% of it was restful.  I will take that.  


Finally, today I am going to get into my new fidget toys, that I bought for myself.  I need to figure out what each one is supposed to do and then start fidgeting with them to help me burn off my stress, so I don't eat it.  


Well I think this is a pretty good day of Making time to do something kind for myself!
