Metropolis and the remaining Classics List
I should have known. I really should have known what I was doing to myself when I sat down with my In and Out Burger last night and couldn't decide which movie to watch that I was going to pick a bad one because in the end I selected the classic movie I was most uninterested in watching. Metropolis by all accounts is a top 5 sci-fi movie on both lists I have been going by and while the experience I had with it ranged from being board silly, to talking to myself about what was going on, and then talking to Kona about what was going on, to mildly enjoying it, the path to get to the end of this film was an endurance contest. At 2 hours and 28 minutes this marathon movie was first screened in 1927, in Germany, and it was a silent film, so really did I expect to be fully entertained? No, that is probably why I didn't want to watch it to begin with. Honestly, I can imagine some of the effects were beyond its time. It doesn't look terribly cheesy. It is just a movie from an
